Endometriosis affects around 1 in 10 women, yet many still struggle for years to receive a diagnosis or meaningful support. While the condition is often described as purely hormonal, emerging research suggests a far more complex picture involving inflammation, immune signalling, gut health, and nervous system regulation.
In this article, I explore a root-cause perspective on endometriosis, drawing on both clinical experience and recent research to explain how factors such as the gut microbiome, oestrogen metabolism, and the neuroendocrine–immune axis may influence symptoms and disease progression.
I also share practical ways nutrition, lifestyle strategies, and nervous system support can help create an internal environment that supports healing and reduces inflammatory load.
